The Kite Runner
I just finished reading this WONDERFUL book by Khaled Hosseini. It was one of those books that sucks you into the story and doesn't let go even when the book is finished. I can't wait to read his second book A Thousand Splended Suns with my book club in January! I'm looking foward now to the release of the movie on Friday!

The Notebook
I just finished reading Nicholas Spark's THE NOTEBOOK. I've never seen the movie, but now probably will have to... I loved the book, very romantic... I hope at the end of my life to be able to have that kind of love.
On to Wuthering Heights... Emily Brontë's only novel... I try to throw a classic in every 5 or so books because I preach to my kids that they should read them... so I figure I should set a good example. In the past year or so I've read Vanity Fair, Tale of Two Cities, Bleak House, War of the Worlds and Pride & Prejudice...
I also made 3 more book journals today to give as gifts this holiday season... SO much fun...

Book Journal
I created this journal as part of an online scrapbooking class I'm taking over at Big Picture Scrapbooking . I made it with Basic Grey paper/stickers and a few vellum quotes out of your standard Mead Composition Book. It has a section for "books to read"; "books read"; "thoughts about books"; "book quotes" and "books to share"... Fun huh?

Brother Odd
In keeping with the "Odd" series... this is another winner in my book... Dean Koontz did not disappoint me. Odd Thomas is in true form again in this book. I truely recommend this book to anyone...

Angels & Demons
I just finished reading Dan Brown's Angels & Demons... loved it as much as I loved the DaVinci Code. It was one of those books you just don't want to put down.
I heard this weekend that they are making it into a movie with Tom Hanks again. Am looking forward to seeing it when it is released. I don't ever believe that a movie is as good as the book, but I do enjoy seeing movies made from books that I love... it just gives me another perspective of the book.
Keep reading!! I'm starting on Dean Koontz Brother Odd next...

Hmmm
Nothing like starting a blog and posting the first time and then never posting again...
Well... I'm still reading... lots... here is my recent list...
John Saul's In Dark of the Night - pretty good book, but wasn't the kind of page turner that I couldn't put down...
V.C. Andrews Secrets in the Attic - it was pretty much what you expect from V.C. Andrews.
I also finished reading Vanity Fair... VERY good book, VERY good story and the movie doesn't do it justice.
On the lighter reading side, I just read Ali Edward's new book "Life Artist" and if you scrapbook it is definately a MUST read... incredible book, extremely inspiring... just makes you want to spend the next 48 hours locked away with your paper, scissors and glue!!
I just picked up Dan Brown's Angels and Demons and hope that it is as good as The Da Vinci Code was...
All for now... will try to check in sooner than last time :)
